A rainy weekend

A rainy weekend spent at home makes me feel relaxed, bored, and antsy all at the same time. I love being a lazy bum more than you can imagine, but there' so much of our new world to go out and explore. So much I want to see.

I found myself lying in bed last night, missing my parents, wishing they were here to enjoy this with me, and thinking of all that I wish I could show them. Then I realized that if they were still alive we wouldn't be here, none of this would be happening.

Not a day goes by that I don't think of them, at least a few times a day. Sometimes I could swear that I feel them touching my cheek or my shoulder. I hear their words of wisdom so many times especially, "Don't let the water run" (we have well water here) and, "Watch your pennies." That last one was one of my dad's favorite sayings, or so it seemed because he was always saying it; he was a child of the Depression. I know they wanted nothing more than for me to be happy. I think they'd be happy to see where we're at now. I just wish I could get my dad's opinion on this house. What would he say? Is it structurally sound to buy? Will it be a money pit in a few years?
